you are made in the image of God and are therefore –
uniquely valuable.
It takes courage and vulnerability to take the initial step to come to counseling. I believe people seek counseling because they want something to be different in their lives, and I believe that the client has the ability to make those changes happen. In the counseling process, clients can be helped to understand themselves better, set personal goals, and be supported in the course of this development. I aspire to meet you wherever you are in your life journey and it is my hope that through our work together you will feel valued, understood, and heard.

Since each person has been uniquely created, I avoid using the same approach to counseling for everyone and instead will try to modify treatment to meet your specific needs. My approach to treatment is collaborative, and I see it as a chance to create an opportunity for clients to see themselves as experts in their lives. I am passionate about helping others discover their potential, finding self-efficacy, and empowering clients to direct positive change in their lives. I use a strength-based perspective; building on the strengths of the client and a variety of theories and methods to best fit the client and their needs.
Through our therapeutic relationship we will work at your pace to begin to unleash the shame, destructive inner voices, and debilitating pain that is keeping you from living a life of connectedness and joy. My focus is to help people discover why they might be relating and behaving the way they are, and give them tools to create change, transforming their inner world and relationships. I consider it a privilege to be let into your journey, and it is my goal to create a safe space where you can feel comfortable exploring the concerns that led you to seek counseling.

As a Christian counselor, I believe that as people, we are comprised of psychological, physiological, relational, and spiritual aspects, and counseling will involve a holistic exploration of how all of these areas are interconnected. I also believe that you are made in the image of God and are therefore, uniquely valuable. I am passionate about therapy, and helping others experience the freedom that comes from exploring ourselves. I’d love to walk with you as you begin your own transformative process!

Continuing Education and Supervision:
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Oregon (#C6345). To maintain my license, I am required to participate in ongoing continuing education every year, taking classes dealing with subjects relevant to my clients.

A Bit More Personal:
I moved to Oregon almost 15 years ago from California, and while I miss the warmer weather and beaches nothing beats an Oregon summer and the beauty of the PNW. I have been married to my High School sweetheart for almost 15 years and have three wonderful kids. When I am not working you can find me cheering on the sideline at a sports game, laughing with friends, or planning our next family adventure.
